Ok since some people had asked and I had the opportunity I decided to time the xfer of pics from a couple of different mediums as listed.

As a warning..this isn't some hypertechnical, highly optimized, detail oriented test...its just a quick drag and drop of the same files to different drives.

300 MHz computer, 96 MB SDRAM, 5400rpm WD HDD.
Shots taken with F505 saved to 32MB memory stick

24.6 MB, 112 Files, all at 1600x1200 std mode, a fairly even distribution of file size ranging from 126 KB to 325 KB.

F505 USB to HDD----1m 20s
HDD to internal ZipIDE----50s
copying between 2 partitions on HDD----15s
From ZIP parallel port to HDD----5m 12s

Hope someone can use it.

You forgot serial and floppy adapter for reference so I'll estimate:

Serial would take about 40 seconds per shot (a bit over a minute per fine mode shot), and the floppy is about 4x faster.
