has anyone else had this problem? i started using tyler inks for the cannon s9000 about 6 months ago, for the first couple of months everything went ok then the printer head became clogged and had to be replaced, the printer worked fine for about 15 prints and the head clogged up again! the only thing i can think of is that it must be the tyler inks as i never had any problems with cannon inks ( other than the high price of the inks!) has anyone else had the same problem? its too expensive to keep relacing the printer head so i might have to swap back to the expensive cannon inks, any help or advice would be welcome.....thanks

I'm on an S820, but using Tyler Martin and haven't had one issue other than my last PM change gave me a very heavy red cast, but I printed through it and with the next install of PM it was fine. I'm actually switching over to inkjet goodies.....even cheaper than Tyler Martin inks and from what I've read and with the suggestions here, the ink should be very consistent given the quality control in the production process. I think Tyler Martin inks lack that. Change inks completely after a deep cleaning. I've heard that soaking your print head in a warm soapy water solution will also help, but I wouldn't do that until starting with all fresh ink.

I have been using Tyler martin inks for over 12months on my Canon S9000. Generally their quality has been acceptable. Two bad cartridges from over 100 processed. Ironically my photo magenta clogged last night. I am in the process of trying to clear it using the tips from this forum. Even if I have to purchase a new head the savings on third party ink costs will pay for it with money in hand.

Do a search on this forum under Canon clogging. You will find problems with every known ink vendor including multiple clogs using OEM inks. One could conclude that a design or manufacturing fault existins in these heads. Epson also seem to have their share of clogging based on reports in this forum, somewhat less prevelant than the Canon complaints.

If the printer is less than one year old your print head will still be under warranty, so your cost will be nil. Mine is two months out of warranty, hence I have resorted to extreme solutions to clear the clog. Search the archives for information from users dealing with Canon when using third party inks. Some users have had their heads replaced more than once under warranty.

I purchased some Tyler Martin inks for my i850. I didn't like the greenish cast to the pictures and the cartridges acted like they were too long for the printer, but I was still able to push harder and get them in. I used them and before they were half empty I took them out. Why waste good paper just to use up ink I didn't care for. I put the Ink Jet Goodies cartridges back in after refilling and color cast gone.

However, I did notice when I took the TM cartridges out that the yellow cartridge on one side of the sponge had hardly absorbed any ink, but the other side of the sponge was completely absorbed. I don't know why and I don't know if that had anything to do with the poor color I had or not. I stored the cartridges in a ziplock bag with the ink caps on the bottom and the vent hole taped on the top. Now then the yellow sponge is completely covered on both sides with ink. When the IJG cartridges are empty again I am going to try Tyler Martin again and see if the color problem is still there. I'm going to use the Tyler Martin cartridges in the printer while filling the Inkjetgoodies cartridges, but I won't buy Tyler Martin again.

Maybe your real problem is that the Tyler Martin cartridges aren't letting the ink flow to the printhead right. It took a little while when I changed the Tyler Martin cartridges out to get the ink flowing correctly through all the printhead again. In my limited experience I hadn't had that problem before.
