** Weekly Fuji X-Series Photo-Sharing Thread Oct. 25-31, 2025**

I've been seeing a huge number of Yellow Rump Warblers this year. This one was feeding on the grass and flowers along one of the paths at the Marine Nature Study Area in Oceanside, NY. I used the sit down and wait for my subject to approach method and it got close enough to get decent crops at XF 500mm + 1.4x (700mm) on my APS-C X-H2s.

Great shots! Amazing how the XH2 focus locks to the fast moving bird

The first is my pick. You must have been working fast as they are very active birds

Yes, they sure dont give us much time to get pics. That and waiting for one to get in good light. Good practice though.

Great image. Nice and bright, but with good contrast.

Angry Bird!
My first impression was 'a bird with purpose.'

Very nicely done long exposure. I like the way you placed the top of the torii just above the horizon.

Greg
Thanks, Greg. I actually wanted more clearance between the horizon and the horizontal beams, but had very little latitude in camera placement.

Spent a few days in Asheville and drove up the parkway to Mt. Mitchell, where it was still closed due to damage from Helene. It was a very foggy drive, but managed to get a few photos. I was happy with this:

Don't see many cityscapes here, and this is a real beauty! Lots to take in.

It seems as if it's been a pretty decent while since we've visited one of the more iconic locations here in the broader Portland area... the Japanese Gardens. Since we're now at the very peak of Fall colors, I couldn't resist taking another visit there along with a few pics along the way. The Fall colors certainly didn't disappoint.

Lovely images. The clarity of the Portland view is excellent. Compositionally, I like the 5th one.

Thank you! It seems as if it's been a long time since we had visited the gardens, particularly during peak colors. It certainly didn't disappoint. The weather was ideal and it was a wonderful day to get out and enjoy one of Portland's truly iconic locations. I think my camera has been a bit lonely lately, and I'm sure it also enjoyed an outing... I know we certainly did. :-)

I found a pair of Great Blur Herons at Kissena Park yesterday morning. One of them was rather shy and would fly every time somone got close which has to be hard on it in such a busy city park. We are a week or two from peak color with many trees having turned.
