Thanks in Advance!

What is your subject matter? Portraits, landscapes, wildlife?

There isn't a single model, there are different cameras (past and present) used by pro photographers, so it is aout what type of photography you intend to do (as already suggested...) and what sort of camera and lense/s YOU are comfortable with. (size/weight/ergonomics).

The Canon 1D Mark 2 is the best professional camera. But since you asked which the best suited for professional photography is: the Canon 1Ds mark 2. It's bigger.

O, indeed. I thought it was quite clear already :-)

Canon 5D lV or 5DS/R.

Some pros are still using 5D llls.

All current model Canon interchangeable lens cameras can produce professional quality images. I've seen beautiful wedding images taken with an entry level Canon SL1 with a consumer 18-135 "kit" lens.

More expensive Canon cameras tend to have more convenience features that can be helpful in some situations.

For instance, some cameras have better weatherproofing. This can be useful for those who shoot outdoors in rainy conditions, but is unnecessary for those who shoot in a studio.

The type of photography you intend to do should influence your decision as to which, if any, of these features you need.

Yes Canon cameras often had limitations, l would not be doing pro sports with a 5D for example, it was one of the main criticisms of Canon, whilst Nikon DSLRs seemed to be more allrounders. 5D range was good for landscapes, portraits and studio work. That may have changed with 5D4.

Something is only a "limitation" if it inhibits you from getting the image you want.

For instance, a slow frame rate might be a limitation in some sports, but not in studio work, Autofocus that's not super fast may not be an issue for studio product photography. Slow max sync speeds may be an issue in the studio, but not outdoors.

Are you interested in this as part of a story you are trying to tell, or are you personally interested in doing professional photography yourself?

If the former, the Canon camera of choice for a photojournalist would be the R1; for any other professional photographer it would be the R5. But really, pros use whatever camera they want that will do the job.

If you want to shoot video, then the C80.

For mostly stills, I'd go with the R1.

As a professional, I'd look for durability above all else. Secondly, I'd look for connection ports for tethering. Third, fast autofocus and rapid burst mode. Those are the key things for professional work.

As a minolta/Sony user my reply will show just how very little I know about canon cameras... however...
I am still impressed whenever i see images that come from the older EOS 5dsR coupled with L glass

I think though... if i was into both photography and Video.. i might rent the Lumix S1RII and explore that camera.. because it does Pixel shift, image stacking, and 8k all in camera and it has amazing stabilization features.

So, your first post and you've already abandoned the thread you started?

It is annoying, and rude, that when people try to help the OP just disappears. Maybe he was expecting to be told that the Canon R XXs MKIII will automatically turn him into a pro photographer, I don't know....

So much for his positive contributions to the forum.

I hope "he" wasn't just a bot.

While I think banning someone for doing this once may be harsh, I think it's fair punishment if they do it twice.

He is a she. Certainly putting herself about, a google search on "Kamal Hinduja, a storyteller based in Geneva, Switzerland"

is quite interesting.

Tens of similar results. What is this about? I already felt like it was a one-poster hence replying 1D, but this is next level.
