Can somebody explain to me why Panasonic would not want to mention its company name - (not even once) in this video?
Panasonic's branding 'strategy' has to be the worst I have ever seen by any camera manufacturer (OM SYSTEM comes close), and it started with not placing Panasonic on the front of its cameras, like every other camera manufacturer has the good sense to do with their company name. Nobody cares about the far weaker Lumix brand if it means omitting the company name from the front of the camera.
But with this video, it seems that this poor branding strategy does not end at the camera. No, no. So, did somebody forget to add Panasonic, or is this a deliberate move? Compare with the G97 video, which while still way too prominent with the Lumix (at the expense of Panasonic), at least it manages to mention Panasonic at the very end:
so the customer has some clue about what company made it.
There is no way that Sony, Canon, Fujifilm, Pentax, Nikon, the ghost of Olympus, Leica or whoever would not mention their company name in their own videos, and list that name on the front of their cameras. This backwards branding only seems possible with Panasonic, and they have their terrible market share to show for it, despite making some very decent cameras.
Will this ever change?
