efm 11-22mm lens error code 60

my efm 11-22 mm lens not working on m6ii. camera screen black... all other lens ok. I tried cleaning contacts no fix, remove & install battery still no fix. Anybody have suggestion? Does Canon still make efm lens repair? Thank you for any help.

Not sure about Canada, but in the US Canon never repaired EF-M lenses. They were always just swapped for a refurbished lens. Assuming your lens is out of warranty, it may end up being more cost effective to just purchase a used replacement. Contact Canon for a quote.

I tried tape on contacts, this will produce a image but is not able to focus or change f stop, works like camera without lens setting. Is it possible to isolate all contacts and only expose the focus contacts? Has anyone tried this? Is my efm 11-22mm lens just an expensive paper weight? Any comments please.

My 11-22 was throwing error 60. A little percussive maintenance has almost entirely cleared it up.

Before whamming the lens onto a concrete table (= thumped the lens down on a table) I would disassemble the rear mount and see if you can get to the ribbon cables - wiggling those may fix some lose connection?

Thank you; I've nothing to loose so I tried your method . Gently taped the lens on mouse pad 2X......IT WORKS, great.....how long????????? Perhaps saved a bunch of $$$$$$
