Hi,

I scan my credit card and the result is almost black. What setting should I fiddle in order to bring out its true pattern?

Thanks

Most scanners offset the light source to one side so that it strikes the subject at an angle - this is to avoid reflections from shiny or glossy paper, for example. But for some surfaces with a metallic-like sheen it can result in all of the light bouncing to the side so that nothing goes into the image sensor.

Your best bet for something like this may be to capture it using a camera instead of a scanner.

the smart phone should be sufficient here- it's just a credit card. Not a lot of information to capture. Though I wonder if they deliberately designed the card to be difficult to copy, to ward off bad actors at the restaurant.

Possible due to security reason, but black seems to be new rage. Dark mode on the phone, dark mode on apps. Black card Amex.
