Finally won a working, beautiful condition RX0ii after having had to return the first one due to the E61 error.

Took it with me to Spain and just had a chance to look at the pictures taken. Sharp and great colors, I see no difference to what my RX100 VA was capable of (without pixel peeping).

Videos also came out exceptionally sharp if not a little shaky using 4K/30.

I also filmed in 1080/60 and footage seems more stable. But videos are very usable, especially when I flip up the monitor horizontally so I can look down on it and press it against my front for stabilization. It is not an action cam and is a miniaturized RX100.

I'm super happy with mine. Best 'always with you' camera for me.

And yes, I could use a cell phone but even my Google pixel cannot match the stills quality. The RX0ii does not make things look digital, also the videos, while not as stabilized as on my phone, have a more organic look to them.

I ordered a leatherette skin for it that fits perfectly so I can put it in my pocket without a case.

I can see how what I have evolved into the RX0 series by combining two items....

HDR-AS20 camera plus RM-LVR2 remote.
HDR-AS20 camera plus RM-LVR2 remote.

The neat fore and aft design of the video/stills camera better suits the idea of why I bought it to fit on garden model railways to record travelling video or trackside video. Later versions went to 4K video before they stopped production. The camera unit shows no image, only text about the mode it's in. Same BX1 battery as in my RX100M6.

The camera has a couple of optional cradles to hold it, one is a waterproof case.

The remote controller makes it easy to set up the camera properly without back-breaking bending down. The yellow Velcro loop holds the controller to my finger, though it could be worn like a **** Tracy video watch. Controller charges via USB cable, no removable battery.

Got the camera but sadly so far do not have any backyard trains running. :-(

Could you send me a link for the source of the leatherette skin ? My searches just found some pouch style neoprene items. Thanks !
