I am at my wits end trying to get a cable release for my Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark III.

I have already bought 2 and they don't fit even though the manufacturer says they fit.

If I look at the camera manual, it says I need a type D cable coming from the cable release head. They always send me.

Here is what they send me....and it doesn't fit. Have any of you shot using some kind of off camera release with this camera? Or am I the only one who wants to shoot that way?

Thanks for any advice you can give me!

It should plug into the little round port (open the rubber cover) on the right side of the camera grip, just in front of the SD card slot door.

This model does not use the USB cable like the older cameras. It uses a 2.5mm three connector plug.

This goes into the socket under the flap below the red dot video button.

They sent you the appropriate cable for the remote shutter release. See attached cable for my E-M1.3.

Your photo seems to indicate you want an HDMI Micro (type D) to standard HDMI (type A) cable to hook up the camera to a monitor.

This is where the remote should be plugged in with it using a 2.5mm plug and jack
