Yes, I'm sure you're right there. I remember a couple of gangs doing the same thing on Oxford Street in the early seventies. They used to do it with playing cards on a couple of milk crates with a tray on the top. If the law appeared they'd grab their stuff and run leaving the punters looking bewildered, scratching their heads and wondering where their cash had gone. I don't know what the going rate was then but now it's £20 a pop! Their victims are almost always tourists.
