As I posted a couple of weeks ago, my new Fuji X-T50 abruptly died while shooting in Hawaii, less than three weeks after I received it. A couple of days later it powered up but didn't work.

With Fuji's encouragement I returned it to my dealer (National Camera Exchange in the Twin Cities). It took a couple of weeks but they got a replacement from Fuji and I'll have it tomorrow.

Fingers crossed that it will outlive its predecessor and a shout out to my dealer for making this happen. This is one reason why I purchase camera bodies from local dealers.

I hope that Fuji will do more than just toss the old X-T50 and dissect why it failed so soon. Having it in hand will give them a chance to do it and determine if this is broader than a one-time issue.

That's good news 👍

I wouldn't be surprised if Fuji USA sends the failed X-T50 to Fuji Japan, unless they can clearly identify the reason for failure.

Natcam is great - I try very hard to buy from them as much as possible, even when that means paying considerably more than online prices. Bummed that COVID killed the branch that was 5 minutes from my home, though. And they keep much less Fuji gear on the shelves than they used to. In the past I could check out any of the in-production Fuji bodies at the shop, but now they rarely seem to have the ones I am interested in in-stick.
