I know of the cotton carrier and Mr Jan Gear lens carriers. Just wondering if anyone can recommend one that is known to be great for the big white lens size lens. Thanks

I have a Cotton Carrier but don't use it much. With the BWL on an OM-1, I always use a BlackRapid Blackline I strap attached to the tripod foot. Works very well for me.

I use a Peak Design Slide strap attached to the two lens lugs. With the tripod foot under the lens, this enables me to have the strap over one shoulder with the camera hanging down slightly behind my leg.

Its very comfortable and I don't feel unbalanced or as if I have a large weight round my neck. The only thing to watch is that the hard quick release clips can sometimes touch the lens but no damage so far.

Does the strap being only on one shoulder cause fatigue on one shoulder though? That's what was intriguing about the Mr Jan option, though it might require the use of a backpack

I've been doing this for many years, with lenses up to 2.5kg. Never had an issue, though I get back issues quite easily.

I made my own DIY solution and I am very very happy with it. I can walk around with the camera for hours without any issues.

Best regards,

Markus

Do you also use the I version? Or the II?
The single camera version. I'm not sure I want to walk about with two swinging big lenses, I use the spider holster for the OM1 with 40-150 if I'm taking two cameras on walkabout, and try to ignore the feeling of looking a bit... err, obsessive :-D
