I did a search for the support contact, and the following came up.
The person on the other end sounded legit at first, but then he had me download a remote access program right away and I was more than suspicious.
When he asked me to type in a website (to "download drivers") that had a "connection not private" warning, I said i wasn't comfortable.
Finally, he wanted me to unplug/replug my printer, and I said I didn't want to have it go through an unnecessary cleaning cycle. He said okay, then turn it off and back on.
No thanks. The idea was to get me away from my computer so I couldn't watch what they were doing.
That was when he said "fine, solve it yourself if you think you're smarter than me" and hung up.
Of course I deleted all the remote access junk and locked him out hopefully, but I did have to type in my computer password a couple of times. It just appeared as dots, so I don't think they can capture it, but I'm nervous.
Anyway, please be warned.
