Oly 300 F4 movement in the finder

Hi All

I just picked up a pretty abused 300 F4 to pair with my OM1.2 and just wanted to verify operation with you all. IS on when focused and its pretty stable in the finder when I shoot (Bird AI tracking) using silent sequential 15 FPS the finder jumps around a lot. Is that normal?

That wasnt my experience with the Oly 100-400 leaving both the body and lens IS on. I just want to see if this lens is working as it should or there is an issue I should have looked at.

For reference shots I have been getting have been sharp. I got a beat to hell body with a clean glass for 1400.00.

If you are shooting with Stabilization with IS Priority, then the image will move around during a burst as the camera fully stabilizes each image. If you are shooting fps Priority, then I would expect little movement in the EVF since the camera only stabilizes when possible. The amount of movement will depend on the specific user and how fast you are panning when using IS Priority. I generally shoot with IS Priority, since I often lower the shutter speed well below 1/4xFL.

300 on OM-1, SH2 finder image is smooth during burst sequences when IS is engaged.

Do you perhaps have prefer FPS over IS, or some other relevant setting selected? There are so many variables.

Thanks all, I have found Silent Sequential 15 frames FPS Priority is still as well as the mentioned above SH2. So the bouncing in Silent Sequential 15 frames IS Priority is all me and my jittery hands. I was just trying to make sure my new/used purchase is doing what its supposed to and it looks like it is. Thank you
