R7 write light blinking continuously

Tonight after inserting a second SD card into my R7, I noticed that the red write light on the back of the camera flashed constantly. What could cause this? The camera did seem to operate normally otherwise. The camera is set to record stills to card 1 and movies to card 2.

It's writing something. If you removed files from the card, for example, it has to check what files are there and rewrite its database.
