CANON'S "Media Configuration Tool" - help needed0

Can anybody refer me to an accurate but simple "reference" or "how to..." for the aforementioned software.

I had it runnning fine on my Pro 1000 for more than 18 months, but some thing has gone wrong, or a file is corrupted and I get an error "Failed to update the meda information on the driver because of an unexpected error"

The official documentation is rather confusing and I am hoping for a simple and practical interpretation somewhere on the www.

Though that probably won‘t help you with your error - I‘d try a complete restart of PC and printer, and if that does not help reinstall of the driver.
