My Mavic Air 3 1st & 2nd Flights

Got my Mavic Air 3 more than a month ago. The maiden flight was disappointing. It is not because the drone failed to deliver. Instead it is due to bad weather, actually snowing. It is rare to have a sunny day without strong wind in the winter season, Finally, good condition came even though it was very brief in early morning and the Air 3 battery was only 75% full. Anyway, I took my Air 3 to the air to give it a try. I flew along the usual route for this test so that you could compare this Air 3 result with the results taken using the other drones such as Mavic 3 Cine, Mavic 3 Classic, Mavic 2 Air, etc. Even with the new RC, connection was lost at around the same pot due to terrain conditions. I guess I have to wait until the Spring of 2024.

Congratulations on your new Air 3, you will have many inspirational flights ahead of you. My previous drones have been an Air 2, and an Air 2S, and I have been totally surprised by what the Air 3 has delivered. I found it hard to believe that it would surpass the Air 2S in all categories, but it has.

Thanks. The Air 3 is a nearly ideal machine. Yes, it outperformed in nearly all categories the Air 2s (I have both the Air 2 and 2s). For my personally taste, I do not use the tele lens often, actually rarely. In this regard, I still prefer my Mavic 3 Classic when traveling. The size of the Air 3 is smaller than the Mavic 3 Classic, but not by much. Thus, if I have to travel with a light weight package, the Mavic 3 Classic is my choice due to its better wind resistance and its larger 1" sensor. On the other hand, the Air 3 is definitely my favorite if I am not traveling by air. I guess in the coming spring and fall, I would bring both and leaving my Mavic 3 Cine at home most of the time.
