Thanks LanYou're welcome, Duy!Thanks Lan for spending the time to provide valuable feedback. Here's my attempt at a fix. First ran the original through Topaz PhotoAI's Sharpen and Denoise modules. Then painted the edges a bit with the clone tool. Then downsized to 25%, and then upsized using the Enhance Resolution mode in Topaz PhotoAI:
Still not a happy image, but improved.
How would you go about in rescuing this image?
Thanks
Duy
Just ran around the edges with a soft edged clone tool, sampling from various points inside the moon. The idea being to mitigate the artifacts before letting the AI tools loose on it.Your version looks much better. Questions please:
1. You mentioned using the clone tool. Can you please elaborate more on how you removed the fringes?
If you have a very soft image and upscale it, you usually get a bigger, but still soft image. If you reduce the image size, it effectively gives you a sharper image, which the AI software will then 'recreate' detail for, as it will recognise the moon and a building. This is only a useful technique if you're using AI based upscaling software though.2. What is the purpose of downsizing and then upsizing?
Mostly you can achieve the same results using the individual tools, but I think the latest version of PhotoAI is now better than the individual apps. If you own all three, you should be able to get PhotoAI cheaply, particularly with the Black Friday deals Topaz are currently running. It's worth logging in to your account to check?BTW, I don't have Topaz Photo AI but have individual tools (Sharpen AI, Denoise AI, and Gigapixel AI).
Again, you're welcomeAlso, I did not run the posted image through these tools
Again, thanks![]()
