Hello to all
I would like to share with you what I found maybe to be best option for focusing using C-Af. Face detection works fine but it can hit wrong eye, hit wrong person if there is more people and you give camera “too much to think” what worked for me best was using single spot Af and choosing the smallest dot there is, this way I got very high hit rate (same as with Canon r5) just take a note that movement wasn’t fast.
this way we are letting the camera to “calculate” as little as possible , and pick the focus on very specific place, usually nearest eye in my case.
also using this method we can use lower shutter speed as we are tracking the subject as it moves (panning) and this way we are eliminating motion blur if we are able to keep the af square (dot) on same position (eg eye).
Using this method we are more involved in making the image, we can blame ourself if we miss the image, and there is more satisfaction after we get what we want.
Wish you great day.
Kristian
