I chose to travel to Albuquerque NM because after researching the weather almanac of all the major US cities along the eclipse path, Albuquerque has the best chance of sunny days.

OM-1 + PL 100-400 + Thousand Oaks Solarlite telescope filter (which perfectly fit over the lens). I did a lot of testing before the eclipse and decided on the following settings:

Program mode with ISO set at 1250. Metering mode - full frame, Exposure compensation -2.5EV, AE bracketing 7 levels @ 0.5EV steps to ensure hitting the best exposure. All images taken @ 400mm (800mm FF equivalent) f6.7 - SS varied from about 1/1000 at partial eclipse to about 1/60 at annularity.

I used autofocus because I find it impossible to manually focus with live view. I used full-frame multi-point AF - when I half-press shutter release button (using release cable), one or more green AF points appear. I only shoot the picture when one or more of AF points are at the edge of the sun - this ensures sharp focus on the sun but not necessarily on eg. sun spots.

A lot of effort shooting a hula hoop!

Great photos! My location was in the path of annularity but it never got perfectly symmetrical like in your shot. How satisfying! :-)

You can also see a sunspot in the first photo - love it!

I might be the only one who shot it without using a filter, relying on underexposing and a fast shutter speed.

The best place to find all the eclipse information (path, locations, times, direction / inclination etc.) is Timeanddate.com. Albuquerque is dead center in the path of annularity.

I know, I just didn't want to travel. :-)

It was rainy where I was. I got a few seconds here and there to take shots. Here's my post from a few days back: https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/4731901/67305662

One photo processed to taste. It's misfocused but I like the clouds the best in this one:
