Has anyone had the canon EF 35-350mm L lens and the canon EF100-400mm is ii. And how do they compare. I am going on a trip to Kenya next month and am thinking about the 35-350 non- is because of the range but I also want good resolution. I also have the EF 70-200mm is L ii. Thanks

you can compare lens at https://opticallimits.com/

For safari I would choose the 100-400

Last safari I had 24-105 in my bag for landscape and general stuff. The 100-400mm was mounted most of the time and it is very versatile to switch between smaller (bucks) and larger animals (elephants and giraffe).

Primes are only good if you go on a photography dedicated or individual (expensive) tour.

The mentioned 35-350mm is not as sharp as the 100-400mm and almost same size and weight.

Btw, a monopod is really helpful for additional steadyness on a 4x4 safari vehicle.

Enjoy your trip.
