Just light! compact!
The 70-200mm telephoto zoom lens has been made as lightweight and compact as a standard zoom lens. This is very convenient.
In addition to the usual standard single focal length lens or zoom lens, it is one that makes me think "Let's take it for the time being".
The size and weight that you can always carry around make you realize that "lightness is justice".

I have both the GM II and the G II.

The difference in size, in carry size, is substantial. When zoomed to 200mm thry are almost the same length. The difference in weight is fairly small (250g), but noticeable - it’s the bulk that differs. Also, you can take the whole tripod ring off the G, you can only take the foot off the GM.

The other bonus is the macro functionality. Getting a 1:1 macro from 140mm to 400mm using the 2x teleconverter that I already own - very nice!

I’m loving mine. I sold my older 70-200 GM to buy it. I couldn’t be happier. I have the 1.4x not the 2x and it’s really good. Glad to hear the 2.0x is performing well in that role.
