Hi,

Planning on buying the new Sony a6700 once it hits the stores so I'm allready doing some research on suitable memory cards. Since the fastest cards it can use are the uhs-ii v90 cards I'm curious about the quality of the Kingston branded "Canvas React Plusv90" sd cards.

Anyone here with any experience with that brand and type of card?

I have the 256GB size and they are a reputable brand and good quality card. Used on my a7R4 and my son is now using them on the a7R5.

I’ve used the 256GB cards for the past two years in my Canon R5 and they have worked as expected without any issues.

Thanks!

I am currently also searching for the best memory card for the camera. I have run into this test on YouTube, which seems that the A6700 could benefit significantly from higher bus speed - the Kingston Canvas React Plus was used.

I looked for other brands and found that a similar Sandisk Extreme Pro costs about 20$ more. Does anyone have any specific experience with the A6700 and one of the cards?

The YouTube test -

Kingston 64GB - https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1701745-REG/kingston_sdr2_64gb_64gb_canvas_react_plus.html

Sandisk 64GB - https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/prod...sdxdk_064g_ancin_64gb_extreme_pro_uhs_ii.html

Hi David, those two cards have been tested against eachother, and against a few more , by Tim from Alphashooters.

Thanks, I found this comparison, but as it does not refer to testing on A6700 but on A7, I wonder how relevant the findings are.

I consider them to be very relevant as the a7iv is also a relatively fast camera but has even bigger data to write. I myself have not doubted those test results in any way, the Kingston cards are a very good match with the a6700, I cant imagine for the camera to do things even faster or more smoothly.

As the A7 has more data to write to the memory card, I wonder whether it is more affected by memory card speed compared to the A6700. I am just wondering whether it would pay off to invest in UHS-II cards instead of UHS-I I currently own. If I am making this purchase, I want to make sure it would have noticeable effect.

My son upgraded from the a7R4 to the a7R5. Each use the UHS-II. He was using a good Sandisk UHS-I on the R4. I gave him my UHS-II Kingstons for the R5 since I went to the A1 and the Type-A tech. He was amazed at the speed difference in buffer clearing.

Get the Kingstons and don't look back.
