I am pleased with the teleconverter so far. Recent moon shot.

Awesome, but why use the TC? Why not just zoom to 250 or 300 and go from there? Probably sharper that way than if you zoomed all the way out to 400.

Sorry, typo in subject line. Lens is 100-400 mm hence need for tele.

Very nice results. I think the moon is a great use of the TC as the slower aperture it provides as the negative does not matter.

Been meaning to get out there one of these moons and try out my 2.0 TC with a similar 100-400 lens ; but keep forgetting!

2.0 usually thought to have some QC difference where 1.4 does not ; but have not tested myself to say if that is really the case.

I rented both of the telecconverter and decided I liked the 1.4 x better due slightly sharper image and less loss of light. With the advances in software sharping, the first issue is not as big as it was but shooting at sunset a lot, I needed all the light I can get even tho denoise software has made great strides.

It's nonsense, image is already heavily cropped. He would need 600m lens with TC and crop anyway.

The original thread title was "Moon with 100-4400 with 1.4x TC. I suggested that he didn't need the TC, he could just zoom out to 2500 or 3000. All a part of the joke...

100-400 on full frame will require a lot of cropping, I've tried that combination. 1.4X TC will help but yes a lot more focal length would help.
