I need the serial number for my ET-8550, but it's a PIA to get at physically. I'm sure I've seen it in the Epson software in the past, but can't find it anywhere now :-(
In case it helps anyone else, I rediscovered the software route, just download an app from Epson called Device Admin; it provides a vast amount of info on virtually any Epson printer.

Interestingly, I didn't have to complete any survey, it was just offered to me on the ET-16680 downloads page. I wouldn't say it has 'daily' use, but certainly comes in handy on occasion, used with my ET-8550, ET-16680 and SC-P5000. It provides the usual stuff like ink levels, but also other info like the serial number and installed memory (which I couldn't find given in any documentation anywhere online for the ET--16680).

Ah! you are correct it is indeed on the ET-8550 support page.
What I had done was a Google search and that took me to the survey route for the download.
Just installed and looked at its performance.....
Interestingly I do not see, as in your case, the serial number.
One control asks me for the (printer?) password and I never set one up???
The one info I would have welcomed would be the usage info about how many pages printed and scans etc done. But none of the more in depth information is being shown.
None too sure why it is not showing or needs the aforementioned password but looks like even the limited use I might have made of it is negated, so will be uninstalling it.
