**This week with your MF camera, Mar 4-10 2023**

I photographed these in the morning drive today. Let me know which one you prefer.

Photographed with the GFX-100s + GF 100-200mmF5.6 lens
I like this one way more, but I feel like you could be getting so much more outta this image.
Thanks, I took another attempt at the image, and this is the output. Let me know.

Better, but I still feel like you can push this way more. What I like about the 50sII I have is how hard I can push stuff. I have not worked with the 100, but I have to imagine you can push it way more. Hope I'm not outta line doing this to your image, but I did a quick dink around in PS with the jpeg. Obviously, the image isn't as clean a starting point, but I hope I'm demonstrating how much more color and tone I think is available in this image if you want it to have that sorta look.

To me the amped up version is unpleasantly garish, and the halos around the trees are just plain weird.

How an image ultimately looks is up to the image maker, but in no way do I think what I am capable to produce with a low-resolution screencap compressed jpeg as a starting point would be an accurate reflection of what is truly capable with the RAW GFX 100 image as a starting point. Just trying to visually express that there seems to be more in the image than what is presented in its current state. Fuji produces some lovely colors and they really don't seem to be shining through in the current edit to me.

A couple shots with my 645Z from this, my neighborhood redwood park on the east side of the San Francisco Bay Area.

This one is enchanting, almost luminous. Did you light it or is it all natural lighting?
Thanks.

Well, natural light, but some burning in Lr. In forest that dark it does look like that to the eye, though, esp old eys like mine that take a while to adjust from light to dark :)

A great environment for MF. Some cameras struggle mightily in there, really tough environment.

I'll add here my first version of this image, the difference is subtle but (to me at least) important. Would anyone care to express a preference?

Great shots, and a wise choice to use monochrome.

I like the second better; not entirely sure why, but looks a bit better defined. Sort of reminds me of using a glossier paper in a print.

Thank you for the feedback, it's always useful.

Interestingly, I've looked again at this image just now and see that I must have had my monitor brightness too high while editing last night. Either that or I just simply didn't take enough care with it, which is possible - Or maybe I was looking at the details too much while forsaking the bigger picture. Either way, I feel compelled to update my image for this week -

Well - that's some mighty tasteful burning in that case. Nice.

The last two of the moon, are they from multiple exposures or just a single shot? I suppose that they are crops, do you know what focal length is needed to get the moon this big (or how much did you crop)?

How much does the Tamron 35mm vignette?

Not sure of the identity of this, it is a flowering bush on my property. The shot is a crop of a 16 panel panorama. I was taking the shot for a spare 12x24 frame I needed to fill and my wife requested something spring / summer themed. I forgot to swap my lens registration in camera again, so actual lens info below.

What a great capture. The condensation on the glass, wet pavement and the soft glow of the neon work so well together. When viewed at 100%, there's so much to see inside the dinner. You should print this large. Well done.

Lovely shot, Scott.

Had a wander around a damp Clacton on a Sunday.

Hi Norse! those moonshots are all handheld and single shots (cropped to my taste) from my study room after having 3x black coffee! lol :-) Anyway, here's the full res. image at 44x33 from 06/03 yesterday. I think thats about 300mm x 0.79 = 237mm ? In fact, this is the first aim - first shot from my set w 70-300mm is usm @ f6.4

I was looking for an excellent 35/40mm lens - lightweight, bright with <40ipmm sharpness wide open ideally w OS-IS-VC + good macro fun *hopelessly greedy* and found this Tamron 35/1.8 SP VC tickng all the boxes! and MTF chart seemingly sharper than it's brother 45/1.8. Got it brand new lens 2days ago, so still learning about my copy but seeing no vignetting @mfd or infinity. So far, I like this lens much much better and more silly fun than my Voitglander 35/2 APO VM or 7artisans 35/1.4M. Here's the full res. at 44x33

Handheld manual focus @ mfd (Andoer AF adapter)
