Did Panasonic end the production of the GX9?

Cameras older than the GX9 like the G7, GX85 and G85 are still sold and available brand new but not the GX9?

Was there not enough demand or was it some other reason?

It seems to be backordered at various stores in the US, but there is no notice that the camera is being discontinued. Why are you asking?

I find its lack of availability unusual compared to the aforementioned cameras.

I don't find it that unusual given Panasonic has rarely run promotions on the GX9, while those three models are Panasonic's entry level bread and butter (and have been heavily discounted from launch price). So retailers probably don't keep much, if any, stock of the GX9.

A similar thing happened to the GF line-up and GX850. Panasonic just didn't try much on them (to the point you can get a GX85 for cheaper, which is what I did).

That doesn't necessarily means it is out of production (it was, it wouldn't be on back order or special order, it won't even be orderable).
