A little blue heron sits on a fallen tree over the water to spy on fish. Tough shot with the bright light and contrast.

Very nice. Lovely lighting. Thanks for sharing Red.

I like your shot of this little blue heron. Quite a different 'pose' than most I've seen of them. It's probably an effective way to get a meal. Is this something common that they do?

Definitely a light challenge in those shadows. Luckily the heron was in the light part of the scene. A good find to capture. :-)

Nice shot- given the extreme conditions Bud :) Not much can be done in PP either

Les :)

Thank you and yes, I see this fairly often. they usually just sit on branches above the water but this one was on a fallen tree. It was a tough shot, with the bright light and the dark shadows. I almost gave up on it, but a little voice said it doesn't have to be perfect to be likable. :-D

Yeah, it was a tough one, almost like pulling teeth to get it to this point. I almost trashed it because of the harsh contrast.

So true. I save a lot of those just for the memory.
