Downloaded demo and what a disappointment.

The no-noise and tack sharp does not work - just getting black out on preview. Maybe an issue particular to my PC but not a great start.

A bigger problem is super select and mask ai, they are just a hot mess and is pretty much a joke. There is absolutely no accuracy to the masks they create and it is pretty much useless in its current form.

Really glad I did not upgrade early. If this is where they are at they have got a lot of work to do.

You promptly came to your conclusions. Perhaps, you did not use this software before, because it has a learning curve even for well experienced users (I'm included)

The issue with black previews is, apparently, down to a bug in NVIDA drivers. On1 working with NVIDA to resolve this. See various posts on the On1 support forums.
It is quite possible. Once my rig has Radeon GPU, I can presume myself a lucky user.

I've just had the same experience with the 2023 demo.

The AI masking of a human against a solid orange background was very poor; and if it's poor with a use-case of a human against a solid-color background, I cannot imagine what it would be like with a busier background.

Have a lesson

Just be patient, have you paid, well you'll received soon an email with link for download!

I have just done the following course to see if I can match the mask in the video:

The mask I get is not like what is achieved in the video. It is a lot less accurate and more blocky.

Possibly it is linked to graphic card issue that is causing issue with tack sharp but it is odd.

Not sure if somebody without Nvidia card can use files provided in lesson and match the mask shown in the video.

Repeat it 2 times more and be just a little bit creative, use darker/brighter or any other options during adjustments, do not expect the same results like lesson shows, have a patience and do not expect fast and easy results.

If you follow lesson as shown then the results should be repeatable. The problem is that I cannot repeat the results.

A check of ON1 forum shows that others are having problems with masking tool whilst others are not. This suggests that there is an issue somewhere.

It never going this way. The same result you can expect if you edit the same photo. Only!

I do not care what other people say, maybe with a few exceptions.

1) Some users are reporting less stability than prior versions

2) There is a known video card issue with NVIDIA “super” cards. Supposedly it will be patched with the next driver update.

3) The NoNoise/sharpening combo seems improved to NoNoise alone.

4) Super Select AI masking appears oversold and poor. There are some really good examples posted on their plus website of the pathetic AI masking. I can’t download and post the images here as they may be subject to copyright. These were of primary subjects against featureless backgrounds and the “AI” couldn’t make a decent mask. On1 appears to have eliminated their prior, functional AI masking too.

5) AI keyword seems to be pretty cool - it identifies at a basic level some elements of photos and creates keyword tags.

6) Content Aware Fill - several users report that it crashes for any file larger than a simple, small .jpg.

Not a good start out of the gate.

Anyone try it on an Apple Silicon Mac? Or on a PC with different video card?

I have a PC Windows 11 and Radeon GPU. Software runs without hick-ups for the first day.

I hope this is on1 fixing the issue with cards like mine otherwise waiting for nvidia to change things for a small player will be like waiting for pigs to fly.
