FWIW if you're looking for a GPU Amazon has a few at MSRP on Prime day

I think all mid to high range but at least basically at MSRP and sold by Amazon not a third party.

Sad that cards at MSRP are considered a sale item.

News stories would suggest that graphics chips are becoming more available. Chip supply is ramping up a bit again (I read) and the demand for graphics chips for crypto mining is collapsing.

Ya but they're going from 2x MSRP to MSRP. That's at the tail end of the 3xxx generation. You'd sort of expect with the 4xxx widely expected RSN that prices would be below (Substantially) MSRP this close to the announcement of new cards.

This is interesting: eVGA RTX 3090 ti

These aren't exactly popular cards, but eVGA is listing all versions of the 3090 ti at $1500 US.

Considering that the lowest MSRP was $2000, this looks like dumping stock. I wonder whether they'll go lower yet when the 4000 series appears?

GPUs are going below MSRP, selectively. It's been a non stupid market for going on 3 months now, depending on where in the performance gradation you were shopping.

With the crypto winter still ongoing, the 4000s may not be unobtainable, or not as much so. We'll see. But if you're still on lower tier RTX2000s or less and not liking your performance, I wouldn't wait too long on the promise of available 4000s. Find a good deal now and take it.

Locally the only thing that came close to MSRP was some 3060s. The 3080TIs weren't hugely above but everything else was still pretty inflated. At one point last month 3070,3080 and 3080TIs all had virtually the same price

I picked up a 3080TI yesterday. The 4xxx rumours are a bit of a mixed bag. Higher performance but higher power requirements. The lower end cards are supposedly getting less memory. Now the delay rumours.

Especially sad because MSRP has gone up. I'm so very glad I picked up my RTX 2060 right before things went wonky. While not high end, it'll hold it's own for a couple more years.

I just wish the "influencers" would stop calling graphic cards cheap right now. They're not cheap. They're just no longer insane.

Everything is relative, as Lord Byron said when being kicked out of England for having relations with his half-sister. :-D

Think of it this way. The 3090TI is a poor man's A6000. There are people buying it because it's cheaper than the workstation line.

I think I have a failing RX 5700XT. I'm not looking forward to having to replace it, but maybe now is the time, before it is too late.
