Can I lock the focus on my R6

I have ordered Dave Busch's book because I find the manual obtuse.

In the meantime..........I am shooting macros with a handheld flash. When I focus, I need to recheck the flash position, which is critical for the effect I want. Inevitably, my finger on the shutter button moves or the camera moves when I check the flash position. I would like to focus and lock that in so when I move the camera back onto the subject, it is still in focus. Can the R6 do that?

You can customize buttons so that AF doesn't happen on half pressing shutter. Then you can map AF to another button on back of camera. That way you focus and shoot independently

This is what people here commonly refer to Back Button Focus (or BBF for short)
