Is everyone happy with the new B&H Payboo card?

I'm having bad luck. Earlier this year B&H dropped whatever back they used for their Payboo card and started with a new one. You had to reapply.

The current problem, of several, I that in April they didn't send a bill and it got overlooked on my end and not paid on time. They charged a late fee + interest (the first late fee and interest I've paid in decades!). I talked with them and they refunded the late fee and interest--but said that my account would stayed closed for three more weeks--until May 17--they couldn't fix that. So it's June 15 and it's still closed.

I wrote B&H in April and they said it's not their problem, etc. Just chatted with them again and they said it's not their problem, etc. Send the vendor a note, again.

I spent $20k last year with B&H so I'm nowhere near a "big" customer for them, but c'mon.

Did I just get unlucky or are others having trouble with the new Payboo card?

You won't like this but...it's really not their problem if you didn't pay the bill on time. Be grateful they forgave the late charge & interest. For one thing, you're paying the bank that gave you the line of credit. For another, whether you got a physical bill or not it's still your responsibility to know when the due date is for payments. Maybe you got an e-mail as well, maybe not.

I've seen threads here and elsewhere discussing problems. Mostly getting through the approval process as coordinating unfreezing the credit reporting agencies and the bank making a timely check and/or often too low initial limits.

It's good you got the interest/late fee resolved. I don't know how much trouble that might have been. The bank expects to make it's money on interest and fees, of course.

B&H has no direct ability to deal with the banking side of things when it comes to approvals and limits. Having seen those threads, I wouldn't be surprised that given a rather intense level of dissatisfaction with the process, that B&H has had some discussions with the bank.

To be accurate, B&H can't address or correct the problem. The card issuer controls all of that.
Send the vendor a note, again.
B&H is the vendor. You were presumably told to send the card issuer a note because that's what you have to do.

Any CC you use, You are responsible for making the payments on time.. I have used both old & new PayBoo cards with absolutely no issues.. As soon as the goods arrive and are ok, I pay the PayBoo card In Full... Like any organization CC have rules, they are as forgiving as they want to be.. imho, they did you ok.. Regards, L

Never dealt with the Payboo card and never will get one, but aside from that, contact the bank that handles the Payboo card. B&H doesn't have control over the specifics of the card. It's like buying a car from Ford and financing it through Chase bank. When you have an issue with a payment, you don't complain to Ford, but rather Chase because they are the ones you took the loan out with... same thing applies for the Payboo card (and most store credit cards, there is a bank that handles the financing, not the store itself; they just partner to bring you financing options and for the store to make a small kick-back on people who use the card).

I only just got a new Payboo card, but the first thing I did was sign on, create an account and go paperless.

In theory they should send me an email to remind me when the bill is due, but when I find out the date it's due, I'll be making a monthly calendar reminder to check on it.

I don't rely on them to get it right, I rely on me to do it.

I'm sure B&H would love that you are wanting to talk about their new credit card that
"covers the tax", but when we get right down to it, it's no different than posting about Amazon's Prime VISA or others.
