"What makes this 8mp CCD camera so special?" PowerShot Pro1

Im gonna be a heretic talking about Fujifilm, but id love to see Fujifilm do some more super bridges with the 2/3 sensor again. But even Canon doing a red ring bridge with 1 inch sensor would be cool!

I think that ship has sailed.....

ITS GOT MY VOTE!

That would be cool if people could write new firm ware for old hardware. Do people do that?

They have stuff like magic lantern and CHDK, but I feel that compared to what deep AI could do to iterate the same process tens of thousands of times to truly get every ounce of performance out of the hardware, we have not even scratched the surface. Plus Canon intentionally cripples much of their stuff, and custom hardware could bring out some things that the hardware was always capable of doing, but that Canon didn't want because it would hurt their other products.

The SX200 can not zoom during video recording. But with CHDK it is possible to do that.

I still have mine, but it's been a while since I picked it up. I thought it would be a nice companion to my 10D given the zoom range. But I'm not a fan of the lens - my complaint is the CA - so yah, the red ring must have been painted on my marketing.

I pulled my out against last night. Able to sync at quite fast shutter speeds, like 1/1600 with the external strobe.

The old school CCD sensor is just great and gives this real nice grain.

I'd love to see a modern mirrorless with CCD.
