I would be adapting this lens to my Z6. I don’t mind the weight of it, and I’ve heard that it just has better overall build and image quality than something like the Tamron G2. Plus the 82mm filter thread would allow me to use the filters from my Z 24-70 2.8. However, there really isn’t much information about it. Most websites and reviewers rave about it, but actual example photos are difficult to find. I’m wondering if anyone has some real world experience with this lens and could offer some sample photos, thoughts, or reasons to buy/avoid it. Thanks!

I was hiking today with the Sigma attached, it's my walk-around with the 24-70mm f/2.8 E Nikkor. I used the Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 E until it got dropped, then opted for the Sigma to replace it. No regrets.

I have the Z6ii and use the Sigma Sport 70-200 f2.8. It’s a very sharp lens, it’s a heavy lens, but very well made. I don’t think you’d be disappointed with this lens.

After my experience with the Nikon 80-200/2.8 AF-S, years ago, I would be more inclined to go with one of the used Nikon versions that are available.

No, it is AF-S. I may miss one, but there are two AF, and four AF-S compatible xx-200/2.8 lenses.

There is an extremely rare 80-200/2.8 manual focus lens.
