Panasonic has changed the CineD profiles in the new GH5M2 with the result that I can't use them anymore there seems to be a bug with skin tones.

So I have been trying the new FLAT photo style coming from the S series for my nature videos. It is also possible to use it for photos of course with RAW less issues anyway

The photo style seems not just to have low contrast (highlights are compressed and darks are lifted) but the midtones seems lifted as well it meters zero at 57% IRE

This is a video that I have done for testing purposes and includes some AF and panning tests but the most important part is the colors.

I have shot the FLAT in studio and applied standard correction to bring it back to video and then applied a fujicolor grading to go back to some golden tones I had with the previous cineD

Lens used 50-200mm with 1.4 Tc

interested in some feedback on how it looks. It is not meant to be color accurate just to be clear

One preliminary comment is that it needs more saturation

Have you seen Cinematch software ? it does a very decent job of making any footage match the look of another camera you may prefer.

A video showing it in action { from an excellent YT video channel }

I like the more natural look of your clip as it for me gives a better reflection of how things look in real life. Too many videos are presented in Disney animation level of colour for my liking :-)

My process is different i dont want my camera to look like another camera

i shoot a color checker in a lightbox then balance it in the editor

finally I apply ad hoc corrections to the scene and at the end apply a film emulation

there are many products like that but then everything looks identical
It offers such a range of options that you will easily find a preset that matches your desired look it makes the sometimes { all right oftentimes :-) } tedious process of video editing that much easier. The video I linked to is by a professional videographer and worth a look. Surely applying a "film emulation" is more likely to give an all too familiar look

As I say I prefer a more naturalistic look too footage .

No because you can change the film you like
The point is they all are one click simulations that are repeated in hundreds / thousands of videos across the web. You are deluding yourself if you think you have a unique look
i was looking for feedback not for spam on products to buy
lol nice just the nonsense one expects from you . You complained about not likening the NEW CineD profiles fair enough .So you applied a pre-set and a film simulation to get it to look like the old CineD a process you could do in this software with much less fuss other software may be available :-)

Thats not what am doing

why people don’t answer the question one asks and go for tangents it is a mystery
Perhaps you should reread your question :-)

That doesn’t mean that I want to match it in fact I modified it the only thing left was a warmer palette

the request is in the part you have not pasted which is the question in the post the rest was context

it does help to read the entire post!
