Hi!

I was thinking of buying a sony a6100 because of its great autofocus, but its a bit over my budget.

Are there any other cameras out there with great autofocus that could be an alternative? Under 700$

Mirrorless or dslr doesnt matter really.

Please define "great autofocus" in more detail. What would you be using the camera for? Under what conditions would this use take place? Is the $700 for just the camera body or does it include lenses?

Used A6100?

ZV-E10?

What about lenses? Do you count with them also? Or just kitlens?

A used Sony A77II is pretty great especially with its DT 16-50mm F2.8 SSM kit zoom. It focuses better than it's little cousin the A6000. It doesn't have live-view at 8 FPS like the A6100/A6300/A6400/A6500/A6600. It doesn't have Real-time Tracking like the A6100/A6400/A6600.

You might find the newer Sony A68 for less money. It is basically a cheaper A77II with the same AF system. I compared it back-to-back with a Nikon D5600 and the Nikon didn't focus as well.

These are neither SLRs nor mirrorless cameras. Neither have on sensor focus. They have a discrete 79 point phase-detect sensor like an SLR. Both models allow focus adjustments.
