Its terrible....how do I choose
Im a total amateur....

I love the looks of F505V and the 5x zoom lens...

1. but not having a viewfinder ....Is that a real problem....I might be using it primarily outdoors or at festival time.Is it usable in the New England winter low light conditions?

2. Does the LCD get scratched with regular use?

I like the G1 bcos the LCD is protected and the media is better and faster?

Can F505V users give me some input please!

Thanlks

I don't know anything about the G1 so I can't help you there.

I CAN tell you that not having a view finder is not ususally a limitation for me. I find most people are just -used- to viewfinders...but don't really need them. It's a personal thing.

The LCD is by far the best LCD I've ever seen. It excels in bright light. It gets brighter with direct sunlight. It is also nice for 'over the head' shots in crowds etc. Where it lacks: when it is very low light (candles, dim room lighting). If you are taking flash pictures in the dark or very dim lighting, it can be difficult.

As far as scratching: I have not heard of anyone having problems scratching it. I have not personally had any problems either.
