Nice photos - the motorboat steering wheel has what I'm starting to think of as a Vision3 palette, based on some others I've seen,

How are you finding the Vision3 ? I'm three films in and I think I'm starting to like it - the first couple I don't think it was moving me (although I've always been happy with the portraits). It seems to have a similar depth to new Ektachrome E-100 but of course a stop and a third faster.

These are some from the latest roll I've shot, all on a Nikon FM2n, lab developed ECN-2 and scanned on a Noritsu. Resized, otherwise as delivered from the lab.

Thanks. The problem with the lab scans is that every photo has slightly different colours, even with the same scene and lighting. I adjusted the photo of the steering wheel slightly to my liking. Here's the original without adjustments:

How are you finding the Vision3 ?
Soft, fine grain, low contrast and saturation, high dynamic range. If underexposed, shadows become purple. Great for highlights, fine gradations, glares, water, sky, clouds, etc. Should work great with snow I think. Somewhat the opposite of my preferred Ultramax 400. I haven't taken any portraits with it yet (a couple of snapshots don't count). Interesting film. Will shoot more...

Your photos seem more saturated than mine. Every lab scans differently...

Your edit is better but the blues still have that depth that I've seen elsewhere

The photos of people I've taken I've been very pleased with, good detail and very true to life looking colours. I like E100 for portraits and it has a similar feel (to me)

For this last roll I did go out of my way to photograph fairly strong colours, and any landscapes etc were taken around the golden hour, but I think there is a bit of lab variation there. These are a couple from a previous roll, one lab scan and then a rescan using ColorPerfect to invert. I think the lab scan is truer to the actual colours/contrast as it was pretty early in the morning, but the ColorPerfect inversion has a bit more flexibility. That is one of the strengths of shooting slide rather than negative film, that the colours are more consistent.

I definitely prefer the Noritsu scan, the bottom one is too neutral to my taste.

Unfortunately the portraits are of family members rather than professional models so I can’t post them. They’re similar to E100, very natural looking - they were only taken outside, not under studio lighting.

Yes, it removes quite a lot of the warmth of the light coming in from the left. It’ll be interesting when my next set of negatives come back to see if the colours come out as strong in ColorPerfect.
