A7R4 one button to switch between single shot and AEB?

I am an architectural photographer so I do a lot of compositing and I almost always shoot a 5 frame exposure bracket and then take multiple other shots while the camera is still on the tripod in the same position to composite later in Photoshop such as light painting etc.

Its really a pain in the ass to switch from continuous brackets to single shot all the time even though I have drive mode as one of my custom buttons and can affect the shot because there is potential that the camera gets moved by me touching the camera.

I am wondering if there is a way to use the custom recall functionality to just push one button to switch between continuous brackets and single shot? Preferably mapped to the C1 or C2 buttons so I could do it from my remote commander and not have to touch the camera at all.

Closest I have gotten so far is set one of the M1 spots on the dial to continuous brackets and another to single shot but turning the dial might even be worse for keeping the camera perfectly still.

thanks,

And I figured it out 30 seconds later… Realized I could map hold custom recall 1 to the C1 button and made custom recall 1 single shot so I just hold The C1 button on the remote and then hit the shutter button to take a single shot.

Sorry for the thread everyone

I've set up one of the Custom Modes (C1) with the following settings.
I have the Sony A9, but 'think' the set up is similar if not the same on the A7R4

Shoot Mode [P, A, S, M] = A
Aperture in A or M Mode [1.0, ..., 90] = 8.0
Shutter Speed in S or M Mode [16000, …, BULB] = not set
Drive Mode [Single, …, Continuous] = Cont Bracket
Exposure Comp [± 5 EV in 0.3 EV steps] = 0
ISO [ 50, 100, … 204800, ISO AUTO] = 200
Metering Mode [Multi, Center, …, Highlight] = Multi Metering
Focus Mode [AF-S, AF-A, …, MF] = AF-S
Focus Area [ Regist Focus Area, Wide, Center, …, Tracking] = Flexible Spot Large
AF On [On, Off] = On

Also have 'Self timer During Bracket' (in the menu) set to 2 seconds

Yep I guess I didn’t realize you could map custom recall to a button but now I’ve got it figured thanks.

Now I just wish there were more than 3 custom sets. There’s lots of settings that I only switch between two options. Would be nice to be able to assign each pair their own button to switch between.

Manual and Aperture priority

AF-S and AF-C

multi and spot metering

Zone and Small flexible spot AF points

I could probably go on.

i can hear what you are arguing about. i know that the sony smartphone app isnt the best and functional working bit of software, but maybe this is a way to change multiple settings without touching the camera. or get a tether cable and change setting with a laptop on location.

You could just shoot manual and change settings in the App. It works quite well. No need for using bracketing just change the shutter speed in the app. It's fast and easy.

I never use bracketing I only shoot manual.

You’re right I could get one of those cam ranger things and that would work, however, even though I don’t have a problem throwing down on nice glass and other expensive accessories I just for some reason have a hard time getting myself to pay $350 for for one of those.

The app is just too unreliable to use. Every time I pull it up it has a hard time connecting and disconnects frequently.
tether cable is around 50$, plug in to laptop, CO21 or Imagine Edge and you adjust camera settings on the laptop. dont need to touch camera and you have top notch preview of the shot you took incl. overexpose warnings and other handy stuff ;)
