As mentioned on multiple review sites, the image quality achieved by this lens surpasses other 50mm lenses that cost 5 times as much as this one.
This lens is incredibly sharp, has pleasing bokeh, provides fantastic colors (especially skin tones) is light weight and focuses quickly.
Some harp on this lens being an f/1.8 instead of f/1.4, but not me. I appreciate the lower cost, size and weight of this f/1.8 lens. Plus, f/1.4 is not really a useable aperture most of the time. Too little is in focus at f/1.4.
For me this hits every sweet spot. Not too large, not too small, smallest aperture is actually usable, nice bokeh, sharp and pleasing colors.
