Light enough, deep enough, comfortable enough on my back. Best of all, I can keep the 12-100 on my em1iii and keep the 150-400 on my em1x. Other equipment: remote trigger, panasonic 20mm, oly 60, oly 300 (rarely included), both TCs, and other small accessories. Even my hat (which I forget too often).

(I'm 84 and 115 lbs)

The depth helps, note that the em1iii body is under the 12-100!

Great fit. Wonderful elk photo.

I have two different backpacks for my 150-400/4.5 kit. My usual kit when I use the 150-400/4.5 lens is the Think Tank Glass Limo. I can fit the 150-400/4.5 with camera in one half and four lenses on in the other half. Currently the 8-25/4.0, 12-40/2.8 and 40-150/2.8 and 60/2.8 Macro in the other half. If I want to carry more I will use my Lowe Pro Trekker 450AW where I can fit all of the above plus three fast prime lenses.

The 150-400/4.5 does take a lot of space in a a pack.

The Limo looks very cool! I had two smaller Lowerpro bags that were both just too much of a squeeze for our giant lens--made me nervous, and I usually had to take both bags. This one serves me well.

Thanks for your comment!

Interesting. I have a ThinkTank Urban Approach 15 I was hoping to use similarly. I haven’t received my 150-400mm yet, but I know my 300mm f4 fits fine. I’m going to Africa hopefully in March and I sure hope I have the new lens by then. Ironically the urban approach is slightly smaller, but it weighs more.

I’ll keep this in mind just in case. Thanks.

FYI I bought the Think Tank Streetwalker Pro V2. Holds the 150-400 nicely with room for other kit. It's longer, but narrower than my Lowepro bag.

But to be honest, I use two camera bags - one for wildlife and one for everything else. So I pick up the bag I need for the planned outing - I don't carry everything with me all the time.

I carry mine on a Black Rapid strap when I'm out and I just wanted something very lightweight to sit in the car with the hood fitted so that I can quickly lift it out and go. It's just a simple holdall with foam blocks cut to shape.

That will probably work--and I sure hope you get the lens soon, Alan!

That looks good, Mike! I almost went this way too. I do have my older bag ready to go for quick trips too. :-)
