Moon today... comparing shots...

Trying to understand what works best with the moon and having some free time, I decided to compare some setups:


Only with the XF70-300 , pp in C1


Same file, pp in LR (played a bit with clarity too)


70-300 & 1.4x. pp in LR




Same photo as before pp in C1 (increased structure, clarity and details)




Taken with the RX10 IV, pp in DXO

And adding one more sample with the 2X TC (sent by baobob, thx!!)

Nicely done. I'm very suprised how much the TC helps, especially looking at full size.

Which TC are u referring to? The 1.4x or 2x? The image with 2x does look better because of baobob skills and because it is much smaller than full moon. In the coming days I will do also single frame vs stacking comparison.

Just looking at the EXIF on here and there are non with the 2x?

That 100-400 with the 1.4x is brilliant (think you may have up[loaded the wrong image based on the description attached to it) but I'm also impressed with the 300 and 1.4x, something which I am aiming to purchase. Thanks for sharing

That Sony image looks impressive for 220mm
