Why Nikon has fallen off radar?

With regular product releases, I can't fathom why anyone would make such a claim.

Nikon forecasts that they will have a (750/5800) 13% interchangeable-lens-camera market share this fiscal year, which isn't an attention getting number.

They will get more attention when they start hyping the Z9.

after fast forwardign through it's complete clickbait to gen up traffic including the title.

Please , don’t just dump and run with click bait titles and links to you tube video that are no more than “ hey follow me , get my book and help me with my sponsor support “:

at least make the effort to tell us why you feel the need to share this link and what your view on the subject is .
I didn’t make it past the endless self promotion from the presenter let alone his stand point on the subject.

It’s a difficult time for all industry with components shortage , hence the slow down .
If Nikon are so doomed then why would they take a risk with the Zfc instead of just chucking out a D3600 or Z500 ( totally made up by me , even more basic than z50 ) to hit the sub £500 price point .

Periodic BCN data dumps track brand market share in Japan in a variety of categories, such as interchangeable lens camera (ILC) sales and mirrorless interchangeable lens camera (MILC) sales. DPReview occasionally publishes articles reference BCN reports. The presenter in the video references this article on the "Nikon Rumors" site: BCN Ranking

The hubbub is over the fact that Nikon is reported as having 10.9% market share in ILC sales in Japan and is not included in the summary chart graphic for MILC sales market share in Japan. That's because Nikon's MILC market share, according to BCN data, is 7.0%. As a group, the Z-series bodies do not sell well in Japan. I should note that the Z50 is climbing and in the top-10 of specific model MILC cameras sold in Japan.

They're just numbers.

Nikon is in the midst of a major transition from SLR to mirrorless as it's primary digital imaging platform. We can argue 'til the cows come home about how well or poorly Nikon is doing managing that transition. To be fair, it's a transition that is still playingout and the world is still emerging rom a economically disastrous 2020. The story of which digital camera makers will emerge on the other side as the leaders of the industry is still being written.

I am a Nikon user myself and I agree with you that its a clickbait video or a sponsored video. The reason for sharing this video was to let everyone be aware of the sort of negative marketing campaign going on against Nikon, be it in the form of videos or articles.

My view regarding this subject is that Nikon is moving in the right direction but at a slow and steady speed and within 3-5 years all the three manufacturers, Canon, Sony and Nikon will be at the same level when it comes to mirrorless cameras and lenses. Being late starters, Nikon and Canon are far behind in the mirrorless world compared to Sony but with the talented and experienced team, both will be able to accomplish their goals in far less time compared to Sony.

However, Nikon needs to improve their marketing strategies and be more vocal about any product being released in near future whether it is a DSLR, mirrorless, any lens or even a post processing software like NX studio.

Someone has posted a video.

Why Nikon Has Fallen Off Radar?

P.S. I am not the person who posted that video nor do I know the individual.
You feel strongly enough to share a video and yet at the same time write a disclaimer seemingly disassociating yourself from it.
Because last time, I shared a video in a thread, i was asked by a forum member if I am the one who made the video or do I have links to the creator and I am trying to promote that channel.

So I thought it would be a good idea to provide a clarification at the same time.

I sure trust he knows his stuff.
You know YouTubers don’t pick the ads shown, right?
It wasn't a YouTube ad. It was an in-video ad done by "talking head" who owns the channel and did the rest of the video.

Yeah, maybe time to ban low effort posts like this (I mean the original...not yours :) I just looked down the hierarchy and read the mod post, so was spared getting sent to the video. But junk like what this seems to be will make it less likely that anyone here will pay attention to worthwhile videos when they are brought to our attention.
