Quattro SPP exported raw, higher contrast?

I've read here that the "portrait" color mode has the least contrast. I really like how the jpegs from the camera look when using this mode.

However when I open them in SPP a loooooooot of contrast seems to be added. It also seems to have some boosted saturation?

Here's a jpeg:

And here's the same image exported from SPP with no adjustments:

Any thoughts on what may cause this? Any workarounds?

And yes I know the obvious solution to this is issue is to just shoot jpeg :D

Generally speaking, the raw-to- JPEG conversion software in-camera is not the same as that used by SPP

Secondly, when SPP opens a raw image, the review settings may not be the same as the in-camera settings. Even if the review setting are "the same" the conversion will still be different.

Not really a "workaround" but I always have my in-camera JPEG settings at sRGB and zero contrast, etc.

I always open a raw in SPP with the original X3F settings, not last settings, nor any other option.

Not familiar with SPP6, maybe others can say more.

tohereknowswhen,

Probably due to settings in SPP. Change to suit whatever effect you want get.

Yeah I figured as much. I open it with the original X3F settings for what it's worth.

Yeah, it must be the case. Dropping the contrast to -2 and then -5 on portrait color makes it looke closer to the JPEG:

Good.

What color space in-camera sRGB or aRGB?

What JPEG settings in-camera (saturation, etc)?

I'll take a guess the Detail setting in SPP could be affecting the contrast. What setting is Detail on?

If you provide a screen shot of your process it might help.
