How can take fotos in Raw without an attatched jpeg file on my Pen F

Choose "RAW" option in menu?

If you are referring to the embedded lower resolution JPEG file that is included in every raw file, then you can't get rid of it.

However, if you are currently getting both a JPEG and a raw file when you shoot, then you have to adjust the image quality settings. I don't have a Pen F, but on my E-M1.2 it is the third item from the top in Shooting Menu 1, or you can adjust it in the Super Control Panel on the rear LCD.

You need to change the setting from one of the Raw+JPEG options to the raw only option.

As epozar said just set the camera to Raw (Super Control Panel). However raw file will still have an embedded JPEG for use by the playback and EVF functions.

Just out of curiosity, with all the JPEG centric features of the Pen F why wouldn’t you want to take advantage of them. You can still use the raw file.

Thanks for the info Gary.Hopefully the attatched jpeg file, which I found irritating, will not appear again
Press OK (and maybe sometimes INFO as well) to get to the SCP, select file type and change to RAW. For other people I'll put the whole story here as it may help someone else who is unfamiliar with the camera.

When you get the SCP or LIve SCP...

Select item 14 and press OK, then choose raw only...

I found that shooting raw only (on my E-P5) gave me only the 3200x2400 highly compressed embedded jpeg that exists in the raw file, that image was insufficient to judge fine detail and focus in the result in-camera so I opted for raw+LNjpeg as a way of getting a better jpeg in-camera for reviewing the shot.

Storage is cheap so I keep the jpegs and the raw files and later may delete the camera jpegs as I do the raw file conversions at leisure. Meanwhile I have the OK quality LNjpeg for quick viewing and sharing.

Excellent post. When I started out I would have been very happy to stumble upon an explanation and advice like this.

Without wanting to start a brand-war, it's less advisable still with Panasonics - whose RAW files contain even smaller thumbnails.

For example...
