"A rapidly expanding lineup of NIKKOR Z lenses" - Suggestion

"A rapidly expanding lineup of NIKKOR Z lenses" road map.............
That sentence caught my eye too......... :-)

I guess "rapidly expanding" needs to be interpreted very loosely these days. Hope that no other new bug will show up and we can get back to "normal" production and distribution "rapidly"......... ;-)

Best regards, AIK

I am seriously considering at least the 50 mm macro. Even if it is 2.8, it might be useful as a nifty fifty than can double as a macro, and, on my crop sensor Z50, might be a nice portrait lens.
I was in the same position until I saw the price - it is in line with previous 50mm macros, but still a lot of money for APS-C. I've ended up with a chinese MF lens for portraits instead (ttartisan, f/1.2 for a lot less than nikon - and converted to FF equivalent that's the same bokeh as f/1.8) along with a vintage macro to adapt (Rollei, only 1:2 but effectively 1:1.33 on APS-C)

It is on more places on Nikon websites, they write "The NIKKOR Z Lens Roadmap" on nikon.com.

https://www.nikon.com/news/2018/0823_nikkor-z_01.htm
That one looks a lot more like a real roadmap. It's a decent breakdown of the the lineup for 2018, 2019 and (a part of) 2020.
It's also wrong/outdated - the 70-200 f/2.8 wasn't released in 2019, instead we got the DX lenses. The 24 and 20 also swapped places for some reason. The danger with being too precise with roadmaps is people get upset when lenses slide to the right

I know ...

I meant purely from a graph/chart construction point of view. The information conveyed is incomplete as is.
I think its meant to be. With the Covid issue, a switch to plants in Thailand, Nikon is being intentionally vague so it doesn't have to backpedal when it doesn't meet a specific goal.
This is all part of Nikon's bold new marketing strategy, "under-promise and under-deliver."

Nikon has indicated having around 30 Z mount lenses by the end of March 2022.

At a similar rate of progress there should be around 70 Z mount lenses by September 2025.

70 lenses should cover most photographers needs.
