May 2021 Part 2 — This Month Through Your Adapted Lens

An industrial lens (learned from mflenses) by an American optical manufacturer. This lens has a Nikon F mount without helicoid . So I used a F to Nex helicoid adapter for focus.

Being so curious about this lens' history, I even tried to connect the "owner" of JML on Linkedin but got no reply.

Last flowers in the backyard.

Name sounds familiar. I think I have some JML process lenses and found lens info online many years ago.

Thanks for sharing the image.

Ignore the EXIF aperture info. I programmed the camera a while ago for my Sigma 24mm F/2.8 and just used that preset when I put the Flek on.

Very nice, i like the man smoking and looking at the phone, but the last pic is my favourite.
The smoking phone man is not as detailed as I would like it to be. He was walking, I was walking, and I barely had time to take the shot before the framing was gone. So it turned out as good as I could get in in the second or two I had.

As for the last pic, I almost didnt include it. But there was something about it I personally like. The way the reflections distort the buildings. I am glad you mentioned that one.

Fujian C 35mm f1.7, the kids are unstoppable and seem to stir the bokeh 😁 :

Jupiter 3 50mm f1.5, one kid finally got caught to pose for a counter-light test of an old lens:

Canon FL 85mm f1.8, found in my drawer the old FL which I haven't used for a very long time:

The good girl - in front of some kind of a church:

The bad girl - posing with my Bud, me in shock that it might get warm while I take the photo 😁

Goethe, this is a notification that you have been temporarily banned from dpreview, details of the reason are as follows: Excessive use of glitter.
-
Lighting trolls on fire inevitably leads to burning bridges. I'm ok with that.

DPReview: A place where people argue about cameras they dont know how to use.

Couple more from the Colorplan.

I was a little worried about it's sharpness. Not sure if it is my technique, APS-C sensor etc etc.

So here's the SOOC and edited versions - not sure if anyone has any experience with the Colorplan - wondering if I got the 'best' version of it...

Very kind words. If you find any inspiration in my images, or if they help in any way, then that is worth the world to me. Truly glad you like them.

I've been doing lots of shooting with vintage adapted lenses lately. I was lucky enough to acquire a set of 5 lenses on a craig's list deal with a couple early 80's Minolta bodies and a bunch of accessories like a power winder, Kiron 2x TC, and some flashes, from a serious photographer who kept everything in like-new condition. Total: $99.

Here are images from the five lenses:

Manatees and marine biologist at Howard Park in Tarpon Springs with a Kiron 28mm f2, noticeable CA but it was correctable in darktable which sharpened the edges a lot

Canon M6ii, Kiron 28mm f2 in Minolta SR mount, Fotasy SR to EOS-M adapter, f8, 1/250s, ISO 100, processed in Canon DPP 4, CA corrected in darktable

Minolta MD Rokkor-X 50mm f1.7, a very sharp lens

Canon M6ii, Minolta MD Rokkor-X 50mm f1.7, Fotasy SR to EOS-M adapter, f8, 1/500s, ISO 100

A different Minolta MD 50mm f1.7 (no 'Rokkor' labeling) - also sharp but not quite as sharp as the Rokkor-X

Canon M6ii, Minolta MD (not labeled Rokkor) 50mm f1.7, Fotasy SR to EOS-M adapter, f8, 1/400s, ISO 400

An oddball in the set: Asahi SMC Takumar 50mm f2 in M42 mount - apparently the one with the radioactive rear lens element coating - surprisingly sharp and vibrant

Canon M6ii, Asahi SMC Takumar 50mm f2 in M42 mount, free-lensed on Fotasy Minolta SR to EOS-M adapter (it fit nicely with little play), f5.6, 1/60s< ISO 400

A large and heavy Vivitar 75-205 MC f3.8 apparently made by Kiron, optics are perfect but the aperture blades are covered in oil - had to take the lens apart and jerry-rig the auto-stop-down lever to become a 'manual' aperture 'mover'. Lens very sharp and contrasty by f8

Canon M6ii, Vivitar (Kiron-made) 75-205mm f3.8 MC, Fotasy Minolta SR to EOS-M adapter, 200mm, f8, 1/1000s, ISO 1600

And finally, I shot the Moon through my Meade ETX-90 telescope last night, and stacked 9 images with Registax software to get a sharper, less noisy image

Canon M6ii, Meade ETX-90 telescope (f13), Meade prime focus adapter, Canon EF T-ring, Canon EF - EOS M adapter, 9 exposures of 1/15 s, ISO 100 stacked using Registax and post-processed in darktable

Wow, you got a good set there - of lenses and of images.
