Does anyone get IBIS with the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 Art on the R5?

I do get IBIS with the 105mm f/1.4 Art, and even with my Samyang 50mm f/1.2 (!), but the camera says "not available for the attached lens" when I have the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 Art mounted. Settings? Firmware update?

I love 50mm (equivalence)

There are some lenses that need firmware updates to properly communicate with the R5 and R6 to use IBIS. My Sigma 12-24mm f/4 Art doesn't work with IBIS, but the 135mm f/1.8 Art does. Interestingly enough ,the 12-24mm used to work with IBIS, but the most recent firmware, which fixed a few oddities with the lens, actually broke that functionality. I'm hoping Sigma fixes those lenses that don't play nice with IBIS.

for the lens or the camera?

That's a pity.

The 12-24mm is worth a fix!

Problem solved.

I've updated the firmware of the 50mm Art, and turned off full time MF override. Camera says it has IBIS now, and when testing I found it indeed it stabilizes the lens now.

Huh...wonder if the full time manual override is the issue, as I turned that on when doing my firmware update on the 12-24. Will have to check that.

Edit: Sure enough...it's the full time manual option that disabled the IBIS. Flipped that portion to OFF and IBIS works again with that lens. Nice! Thanks for finding that!

You're welcome! :)

I was updating the firmware, I saw that setting, and than I remembered I've read somewhere at this forum I should to disable that to get IBIS. Very weird, but if it works it's fine by me. :)

Kind of an old thread by now, but since I just encountered the same problem with R7 and the Sigma 50mm f/1.4A and 14mm f/1.8A lenses, I can confirm that the same solution works with this combination too.

Good to know. I have the ART 50,85 &135 to use with the R7,& R5. IBIS is very valuable to achieve the high resolution these lenses are capable of. The 85 &135 are sharpest in their FL for my gear. Thanks.
