Do fuji cameras have anything like the live composite or live bulb on olympus OMD cameras? I am specifically interested in fuji xs10, which competes with olympus m5 mark iii.

Live composite is when the camera will take several photos at short exposure and combine them in camera without blowing out background details. This can be used to create star trails, or headlight trails.

Live bulb is when you press the shutter button once to open the shutter. You can see the photo developing live on screen. When you are satisfy you press the shutter button again.

Fuji's multiple exposure feature seems headed in that direction, but not sure if it work as above.

I know how to create trails in software using multiple exposures. But I want to know if it can be achieved in camera.

What DarnGood said.

I thought I'd miss it more than I did. I turned to stacking exposures instead. [shrug]

I wouldn't mind if it became a Fuji thing too, though I haven't thought about it in ages. :)

Isn’t the HDR mode essentially the same as the composite? It takes several shots and merges them in camera. I have not tried it with moving lights in the dark so not sure how that would work. Not sure if the XS10 has that mode. XT4 does.

l wish they would do the same in camera merge for focus bracketing. Also in camera time lapse would be awesome. You can obviously shoot bulb but not live view, that also seems like a handy feature.

No, not quite. There's Live Time and Live Composite, and Live Bulb modes, better I link to a summary than explain it myself.

No... personally I have it in my TG6 and have only used a couple of times for light painting.

The X-T200 and X-A7 have a Light Trails feature, similar to live Composite or Bulb. So far Fuji has chosen to put these kinds of in-camera processing features (also 4k timelapse video rendering) only in their lower-end Bayer-sensor cameras, not in any of their X-Trans cameras. Not sure why; I speculate that it's something to do with X-trans processing. It's unfortunate because those features can be used very creatively, and in my opinion would complement the film sims (think of the different colour effects when shooting star trails or light painting). 🤷🏻‍♂️
