There is a lot of interest in the 4 new lenses Nikon are said to announce shortly so perhaps a set of polls to see which may be the favourite choices in different types of lenses. Just for fun, but comment on your choice.

I have been waiting patiently for a small 27 or 28mm lens because it is a focal length I use often, and with it being small and light the chances are good that it will be on my Z7 most of the time.

That’s where I’m at too. I think the 28mm will be perfect for a lot of my street photography.

Potentially I'm interested in both, the 28mm for the Z50 and the 40mm for the Z6. However, I'm not expecting the I/Q to be better than what I've got, which might mean I don't bother.

I hope both will be at least f/2.0, otherwise I am not interested.

Similar. Even f/2.5 makes sense to me to replace Z50 kit zoom for low light conditions and/or street sessions

Where’s the option for both?!

Since I have the 35 1.8S, I’ll most likely look towards the 28mm first...

I’ll likely get both. And the availability of these lenses will increase the odds that I’ll pick up a Z50 or a Z30 to make a really small grab and go option, although I do think these lenses on a z6 will make for a plenty small package.

My thoughts too. These lenses could open up the possibility of grabbing a z30 in the future for occasions that require a low profile or pocketable setup.

I might be interested in the 28 "muffin" especially if its a bit faster than 2.8, say 2.0 or 2.5

As the Z50 user, I'm torn. 35mm is neither wide or tight enough, and 50mm is the right amount of tight for me. I'm afraid that 40mm will keep me wishing it was wider or tighter. I may lock my lens at 28mm and see how that feels.

if 40mm is tight enough and reasonably fast I'll consider picking one up for when large gatherings and events start to happen again later this year. If I don't like either than i'll just be renting 50mm f/1.8 or f/1.2 S lenses for these events and forego sliding the camera into my pocket.

Need an option for both :)

I would like either. But I remember taking entire vacations with a Coolpix A years ago and it had a 28mm field of view, if I recall. I was amazed at what I could pull off with just that camera. I already own the Z 50mm F1.8 S so the 40mm may be too close.

35mm, please.

;-)
Nice. If they did offer 28, 35 & 40 in a pancake, I think I would grab the 35mm.

But for now, I will go with the 28mm for sure.

F2.0 would be awesome. I'd still be in at F2.8 though.

40mm for me please!

Got the excellent 28 1.4E in F mount so I don't want another 28.

28mm for exactly the same reason. The Coolpix A is the best camera I have ever owned for hiking and sightseeing.

40mm.

It's my favorite FL.

And if it's very good, I'll get the 28mm.
